Subtiel

After missing the chance to visit Hostellerie Le Fox, I looked forward to discovering Stéphane Buyens’ new restaurant, Subtiel. While the cuisine showed promise and creativity, several shortcomings in service and execution prevented the experience from fully meeting expectations. A promising start, but with room for improvement.

Sensum

Despite its stunning Art Nouveau setting and moments of culinary promise, Sensum failed to deliver a consistently enjoyable experience. Service shortcomings and a tense atmosphere overshadowed the meal, leaving the restaurant’s Michelin-starred cuisine unable to fully compensate for an overall experience that felt disappointing rather than memorable.

Sir Kwinten

Sir Kwinten’s journey from Bib Gourmand to two Michelin stars is one of Belgium’s most impressive culinary success stories. Under chef Glenn Verhasselt, the restaurant combines refined technique, outstanding ingredients, and warm hospitality, creating a dining experience that highlights the very best of contemporary Belgian gastronomy

Fine Fleur

Fine Fleur delivers a refined Michelin-starred experience in Antwerp’s Botanic Sanctuary. Chefs Jacob Jan Boerma and Thomas Diepersloot showcase creativity through unexpected flavor pairings, while warm hospitality and elegant surroundings complete a memorable journey. A destination that deserves a place on every fine dining enthusiast’s list.

La Paix

La Paix combines more than a century of history with the unique vision of Chef David Martin. This two-Michelin-starred institution in Anderlecht impresses with its Japanese influences, warm hospitality, and consistently high-level dining experience, making it one of Belgium’s most distinctive gastronomic destinations.

Centpourcent

Despite its Michelin-starred reputation, my second visit to Centpourcent failed to change my initial impression. While the setting is elegant, the dishes often lacked depth and the service felt distracted at times. A restaurant with many admirers, but one that ultimately did not align with my personal expectations.

Zilte

Perched atop Antwerp’s MAS museum, Zilte offers exceptional views and meticulously crafted cuisine from chef Viki Geunes. While the three Michelin-starred restaurant showcases technical excellence and refinement, our visit lacked the memorable standout dishes and attentive service expected from a dining experience of this caliber.

NEON

NEON in Lier has quickly become one of Belgium’s most exciting fine dining destinations. Led by chef Nils Proost and Annelies Tersago, the Michelin Green and Red Star restaurant combines sustainability, creativity and a strong local identity, delivering memorable dishes and confirming its place among the country’s rising gastronomic stars.
