Adding to the allure is the Botanic Sanctuary’s ecosystem of remarkable restaurants. Among them is Bar Bulot, a sophisticated brasserie led by chef Koen Gussenhoven, who excels in presenting refined Franco-Belgian classics with a modern twist.

Another standout is Hertog Jan at Botanic, helmed by the celebrated chef Gert De Mangeleer and sommelier Joachim Boudens. This restaurant boasts an impressive two Michelin stars, reflecting its exceptional culinary artistry and unique fusion of Asian influences with European traditions. It’s more than a meal—it’s a celebration of the art of dining.

A seven-course menu offering a harmonious blend of earthy flavors alongside fish and shellfish. Time and time again, she succeeded in surprising us with unexpected combinations, such as veal sweetbreads paired with rutabaga and pineapple, or truffle with celeriac and macadamia nuts.

It took a few courses for the staff to realize that our questions and remarks were genuine, rather than coming from a know-it-all trying to be clever. Once they understood this, the service became even smoother.

Definitely a must-try experience.
