in Kraków, Poland
Located at Brodzińskiego 6 in Kraków’s Podgórze district, just a short walk from Rynek Podgórski and the Vistula riverfront, Vamos! is one of the city’s most exciting contemporary dining destinations. Set in a neighborhood that has transformed into a vibrant hub of independent restaurants, cafés, and creative businesses, the restaurant enjoys a distinctly local atmosphere away from the crowds of the Old Town while remaining firmly connected to Kraków’s dynamic gastronomic scene.
The driving force behind Vamos! is chef and co-owner Adriana (Ada) Wójcikowska, one of the most acclaimed young talents in Polish gastronomy. Her achievements include the Michelin Poland Young Chef Award in 2025 and the Gault & Millau Poland Young Talent Award in 2026, recognition that has firmly established her as one of the country’s rising culinary stars.
Wójcikowska’s path to becoming a chef was far from conventional. After initially studying landscape architecture, she discovered her passion for professional kitchens while working a seasonal job on the Polish coast. She later moved to Kraków, where she started her culinary career in a small bistro in Kazimierz before continuing her development in the kitchen of a luxury hotel. Under the guidance of several experienced chefs, including mentor Grzegorz Bucki, she refined her skills and built the foundations of her culinary identity.
Before opening Vamos!, Wójcikowska earned a strong reputation in Kraków through her work at FILO and later MAZI, two projects that helped shape her profile within the city’s restaurant scene. The opening of Vamos! marked the culmination of years of experience and the realization of her first fully independent concept, inspired by extensive travels throughout Mediterranean countries and a desire to create a restaurant that reflects her own vision.
The restaurant follows a food-sharing concept, with a menu complemented by a selection of daily specials that encourage exploration and discovery. During our visit, every plate brought a thoughtful interplay of flavors and textures, creating a dining experience that remained engaging from beginning to end. One of the highlights was a Bánh mì-inspired pita filled with minced beef, pickles, spicy mayonnaise, peanuts, and coriander—an understated dish that delivered remarkable depth and character.
To finish, I chose a chocolate tart from the elegant selection of desserts displayed at the counter. With a rich, silky filling reminiscent of a luxurious chocolate pudding and topped with fresh fruit, it provided a refined and satisfying conclusion to the meal.
In just over an hour, Vamos! delivered a memorable dining experience that perfectly reflects the energy and ambition of Kraków’s modern restaurant scene. Combining a remarkable location, a chef with an impressive professional journey, and a clear creative identity, it is a destination well worth seeking out on any visit to the city.
